A Change Of Tune
Some Pictures From Siem Reap, Cambodia

Here´s a different kind of post. One of the countries I visited on my first trip to Asia a few years ago was Cambodia. It´s such a beautiful country with a rich history and so many interesting places to visit. I highly recommend taking a trip to Cambodia and stop by Angkor Wat (Heavenly Temple). I spent most of my time in Siem Reap but got to visit much of the countryside even going as far as the northern border between Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Of course I visited Angkor Wat and all the temples around Siem Reap but I also visited two waterfalls, a crocodile farm and the memorial for the victims of the massacre that took place under Pol Pot. So here are just a few of the more than 500 pictures I took (and remember they aren´t in any kind of order and were taken in several places). Enjoy!

I´ve read so many blogs and seen so many videos on people who have travelled to Cambodia. I´ve read the articles from expats and tourists and they all have interesting takes on Cambodia and Angkor Wat. My experience as a tourist and first time visitor to Cambodia was very positive where my hotel was as nice as any of the finest hotels in Singapore and the food was very good too. I loved the idea that more coffee shops are springing up in Siem Reap along with restaurants and you can see them laying fiber optic cables to have fast internet speeds(Unfortunately the internet was very slow,). They have only 4 traffic lights for the whole city and the funny thing is I saw only one accident and that was in the country side and the moped driver was drunk. The people were very kind and honest to me and the good food is very cheap. The weather, of course, is nice and warm and when it rains everything dries very rapidly because of the warm weather. My advice also, which will enhance your experience, is to hire a tuk-tuk driver. I did and he showed me around to so many places. It will cost you a little more money but it´s worth. You will avoid so many problems with the right driver. Go visit Cambodia and see Angkor Wat it´s cheaper than Europe and just as awe inspiring as Versailles.
