It is a tale of a women named Telly Paretta, played by Julianne Moore, who believes her son died in a plane crash over a year prior but is told by her husband that she never had one. Her husband Jim, played by Anthony Edwards, convinces her to see a psychiatrist about her delusions. Telly end sup going on a quest to find out what happened to her son. Is she delusionally psychotic or right about what she thinks she remembers? Her quest reveals some startling truths that involves many families, the government and some entities known only as ”them”.

This story unwinds around a fantastic mystery that is just too good to turn off. The character of Telly is a reliable witness and it is through her eyes that we uncover the truth. What I really liked about this film was the way Telly was portrayed as an unreliable witness throughout the film but was in fact spot on about so many of her observations and beliefs. She was not an alcoholic like her neighbor Ash, played by Dominic West. She was her very own best detective.

I also liked the way this film stayed away from exagerated language or action scenes and kept the story simple. It doesn´t answer all our questions, only the important ones. I´m also glad that the creators of this film realized that it was too good to have a sequel.

I highly recommend ”The Forgotten” as a must see and own.
