“Jumper” is an American, sci-fi, action film loosely based on the novel of the same name by Steven Gould. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer, Jim Uhls and Simon Kinberg. It stars a huge cast which includes Hayden Christensen, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson, Diane Lane, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Rooker, Anna Sophia Robb, Max Thieriot, Jesse James, Tom Hulce, Kristen Stewart and many others.

The story starts in Ann Harbor, Michigan where the young David Rice, played by Max Thieriot and then later Hayden Christensen, inadvertently discovers that he has a super power. That super power saves his life back then but it also changes his life forever. David Rice has the ability to teleport. Using his gift brings him a kind of success but also attracts a lot of trouble.

“Jumper” is a simple story that is well done with a very talented cast. I also liked the way they turned what seems like a wonderful super power into a kind of curse where David is on the run for his life. The life he sets up for himself is funny and short sighted but also very empty.

If you like sci-fi and action then this humble project is for you. because it has healthy doses of all that and more. So enjoy “Jumper”.
