”La Femme Nikita” is a French/Italian action-packed spy film directed by the great Luc Besson and stars Anne Parillaud (plays Nikita), Jean Reno, Tcheky Karyo, Jeanne Moreau, Marc Duret, Patrick Fontana, Alan Lathiere, Laura Cheron and many others with music by Eric Serra. It was produced by Claude Besson, Patrice Ledou, Luc Besson, Mario CecchiGori and Vittorio Cecchi Gori.

The story is simple and excellent with a few twists. Nikita is a teenage drug addict and criminal who gets arrested for a robbery she and her gang participated in. Her gang members are killed and she is caught. While in jail she is recruited by the French govt. Into an assassin/spy program where she is re-educated and her identity is changed. This new drug free Nikita hones her skills as a govt. agent and grows as a person in leaps and bounds. Some of the situations she finds herself in are real nail-biters too.

”La Femme Nikita” is arguably the best spy film made because of its realism, story flow and the way the actors bring each and every character to life, especially Anne Parillaud. The characters are so real that we can forget the dirty business they´re in and worry for their well-being. We want to see Nikita escape to a normal life and Luc Besson brilliantly puts us in the seat right next to her.

”La Femme Nikita” is a roller coaster ride of unpredictable events, wonderful character development, fantastic story flow with heart pumping action. It´s a great story and fun to watch. For all these reasons I highly recommend ”La Femme Nikita” as a must see and own.
