This book is another fast read with an interesting story line and an unconventional main character. The main character is a telepath who has fallen into the pit of addiction and so struggles with it and the consequences of his past mistakes every day. He has been fighting against a relapse for 3years. The story takes place around Atlanta, GA and our character works as a detective´s assistant. His abilities come in handy but he is not trusted for the simple reasons of his Satin addiction and the fact he is a telepath. He is a very capable telepath too.

I found it interesting to have a main character who struggles with such serious problems and to see how he is treated by his peers. We get a good idea of what people think of him and the kind of person he really is.

It is always interesting to see how individuals deal with isolation within a group. It is sad and unfair at times the way the character is treated.  However, he manages to solve the murders and makes small positive steps forward throughout the story.  Such as his willingness to eventually take rehab seriously.

Another interesting aspect of this story is that we don´t know the main character´s name until the end of the book when he finally agrees to take rehab seriously. I think this is the author´s way of alluding to future episodes.

This is an exciting book with a capable main character that grows more and more interesting as the story develops. I look forward to the further adventures of our telepathic detective.

The second book of the series is called “Sharp”.
